Being 30-something I am just starting to notice that the little lines around my eyes and forehead are taking longer to disappear each morning – so depressing! However I am not ready to start Botox injections (yet).  I read about this product from Peter Thomas Roth and thought this is really THE perfect product for someone like me. It’s a firming treatment that contains ingredients that inhibit line-inducing facial expressions (just like Botox!), reduce the appearance of expression lines, promote skin elasticity and firm up skin. It’s pricey at $150, but still waaay cheaper than surgery or Botox and it REALLY works! Get an additional 20% off with the code Autumn20 at the SkinStore

I am not normally a foundation person, especially in the warmer months. I usually only use concealer and powder because I hate the heavy feeling of wearing makeup. So when I came across Stila’s One Step Makeup that claims to be a primer, foundation, concealer and powder all in one step, I was *really* skeptical. But O-M-G this stuff is literally AMAZING! It not only does all that, but it also diminishes the look of fine lines and wrinkles, minimizes pores, controls oil without drying and it lasted all day without needing to be touched up! It’s made with 100% natural mineral pigments and is paraben & fragrance free. Seriously, my skin looked airbrushed and model perfect, without looking or feeling like I was wearing anything!  20% off at Stila with the code FRIEND2010 and free shipping over $50.

Yes, that’s the actual name. OPI’s “Cuckoo for this color” and I really am! Part of the Fall 2010 Swiss collection, this is a gorgy-porge deep metallic teal green. Dark enough to be vampy (a la the original Chanel Vamp!), but different enough to be noticed. Love!

It has definitely been one of those icky, ucky weeks!!! rain, clouds, cold and BORING-ness abound and alas kitties, it’s only TUESDAY!!! *sighhhh… in an effort to brighten my mood I decided to buy some new makeup. My rationale, if I spend $10 (and with the $5 off code at Ulta, it’s really $15!) I can equate it with my daily dolce cinnamon latte (skim of course!)…. anywhooooo, I generally adore lipstains- the staying power is gonzoballs, but it is def tough to find one that isn’t overdrying and so heavy… enter Maybelline’s Color Sensational Lipstain. The colors are great- my favs “wink of pink” and “in the buff!” ….and it claims to go on light and soft! I will def keep you kitties posted!

Lip gloss is the one beauty product I will not leave the house without. Even with no other makeup on, how hard is it to slick on some gloss? After all, who knows who you are going to kiss see? Ever since I (re)discovered Chanel’s glossimer lip gloss $27, I have been on a quest to find something I love just as much (and hopefully cheaper). Alas, Pixi you are not a contender. While I was able to purchase you for an absolute steal (Pixi lip gloss is $3.50 on Beautyticket.com, normally retails for $18.00) you don’t come close to my beloved Chanel. While your colors are nice, they are a bit sheer and the brush applicator is horrible. I far prefer a wand applicator over a brush! Also the staying power can’t touch Chanel. But what did I really expect for $3.50?!
