Coco Chanel once said before you leave the house take one accessory off. The queen of fashion was right. After all, no ONE wants to look like a 12 year old after a shopping spree at Claire’s! When it comes to jewelry less is truly more. I personally cannot stand what I call the “NJ housewife” look, multiple bracelets, rings, etc. It looks like some of these women wear every piece of jewelry they own every day! My personal jewelry rules are:
1.) Buy the best watch you can afford. I am not a fan of fashion or trendy watches. I think everyone woman should own one great classic watch like a Rolex or Cartier. Not only will this last you forever, but it’s a great investment.
2.) If you are married wear your engagement ring and/or wedding ring proudly. If you are single don’t wear anything resembling an engagement ring. (Unless you are trying to deter men). Celebrate your singleness with all the fabulous cocktail rings out there while your digits are still free!
3.) Your costume jewelry should look like costume jewelry and not try to pass itself off as the real thing. There is a place for real jewelry and costume jewelry in your wardrobe and both are great for different looks. In general, the more formal the outfit, the more formal the jewelry.
4.) Nev-ah wear a statement necklace and earrings, or a statement bracelet and ring. Only one part of the body can be highlighted tastefully at any time. So if you are sporting fabulous earrings, no necklace, only a ring will do. Or pair a killer cuff with a necklace.
5.) Everyone woman needs: a pearl necklace and earrings (real) and a pair of diamond studs.
5.) I know they are “in” but I cannot stand bib neckaces! They remind me of dog collars or 80 year old women. There is no need to laden down your neck like this. Please. Dont.

It should come as no surprise that I LOVE to shop!! It’s more than a hobby for me, it’s a sport (and a competitive one at that!) There are few things more thrilling for me than scoring a fabulous deal…. I am talking up to 90% off! People are always amazed at the things I am able to find and their price! Here are some links to my favorite “hunting” grounds. Enjoy!

The Emmy awards the other night had me thinking about who I would reward, if I could, when it comes to fashion. So without further ado… the Oscar goes to….

I am waay too much of a wuss to ever get plastic surgery. Someone cutting or injecting something into me when it’s not medically necessary? No thank you! (At least for now, ask me again in 10 years!) I have thin lips but I love the look of full glossy pink lips. Enter Too Faced Beauty’s Glamour Gloss Lipgloss. It’s a super shiny, non sticky lip gloss that naturally plumps your lips. I was skeptical at first but I tried it, it has a tingly almost cooling effect when you put it on. And then… whoa! The shade I bought was “sexpot” and all I can say is very. At Ulta…
