I love Lancome’s Genifique although I would never pay $78 dollars for it. I received a free sample from Sephora some months ago and I couldn’t believe what a difference it made in my skin – after only a week. It really improved the clarity and texture of my skin (think baby butt smooth), but more importantly those little wrinkles I have on my forehead and around my eyes DISAPPEARED. So I was thrilled when a little birdie (o.k. friend in the industry) told me that L’Oreal’s new Youth Code serum is the SAME formulation as Lancome’s Genifique at 1/3 of the cost! For those of you who didn’t know, Lancome and L’Oreal are owned by the same parent company and many of their products are IDENTICAL. Except Lancome’s are much more expensive and only sold in high end stores. L’Oreal’s Youth Code serum is no exception. It has the exact same formulation as the Genifique! Buy it for $24.99 at Ulta.

Even though I tan very easily, I still have problems getting that uniform golden color that I love. Self tanners are not a solution for me since I simply want a nice bronze color, not a product to activate the melanin in my skin. Enter L’Oreal’s Sublime Bronze One Day Tinted Gel. This is NOT a self tanner, does not contain DHA and won’t activate the melanin in your skin. This is a sheer bronze gel, you apply it like a lotion and it imparts a gorgeous shimmery bronze color to your skin temporarily. It’s water resistant but will wash off at the end of the day with soap and water! Very realistic looking and has buildable coverage depending on how tan you want to look. About $10, available at Target, Walgreens and other retailers that sell L’Oreal products.

Well, if not- this will make you a believer! L’oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base (yes, a mouthful) banishes that whole ”looking-like-a-bag-lady-by-5pm” thing that happens when your foundation and/or concealer settles into those teeny, tiny, crinkly, fine lines that we can pretend we don’t have (NOT a good look). Just dab a bit under your eyes (and anywhere else you need it!) and your makeup will go on smoothly and will look flawless all day (read: YOU WILL NOT LOOK LIKE YOU’RE GETTING OLD). This not only worked for me, but really made my entire makeup routine so much easier (you won’t believe how much smoother your makeup goes on!). AND If you’re looking to kill some time check out the video on L’Oreal’s website
$11-$18, depending on where you get it (I found it cheapest at Drugstore.com). Available at drugstores, online- pretty much everywhere…

I can’t say that I’ve used hairspray on a regular basis since the 80’s (yes I had big hair, what can I say I AM from Jersey!) but lately I find myself curling or using velcro rollers to liven up my boring straight hair. This requires hairspray to hold the body unless I want all my handiwork to fall flat within minutes!I saw the hype about L’oreal’s Elnett hairspray and I was intrigued. Only available in Europe for years, it is hands down the best hairspray I have ever used! I have fine hair that is easily weighed down by products. This hairspray adds tremendous volume and shine in my hair, without being sticky. It is at all due to it’s mircofine spray - you can literally run your fingers through this! Available at Tar-jay for $14.99 for 11oz. A little pricey but will last a LONG time.
